The world has been holding out on me.
Well, not really. I feel very included in the joys of the world. But somehow I have, until today, missed out on the incredible wonders of MACRO!
Goodness me. Many of you probably know exactly what I'm talking about, but for those of you who don't (like I didn't), "macro" is the feature on a camera which enables a person to take close-up pictures of small things in beautiful focus. I'm ashamed that I didn't know about this before. Up until now, I've been trying and trying to take close-up pictures of my knits for my shop, and have utterly failed--my camera simply blurs out--so all my photos are farther away than I'd like. I've still been able to get great detailing, but not those gorgeous close-up shots that I dream about. I figured my point and shoot digital camera, which is loyal and lovely but not a fancy SLR camera, wasn't able to do better, and resolved that someday when I got rich from knitting (HA HA), I'd try to get an SLR camera.
Then last night, I mentioned my close-up troubles at dinner, and my stepdad suggested I check and see if my camera has a little flower button on it. Zing!--it does--and there go the strings of my heart, because I just can't stop taking big pictures of little things. So please humor me while I show you a few very tiny, very blessedly focused bits of my day.
Fondly and with great focus,
